The I-PASS Patient Safety Institute team has several years of experience successfully implementing and sustaining I-PASS in hospitals. They include researchers, hospitalists and medical education specialists who have expertise in patient safety, implementation science and medical education. They developed the tools based on their own experience in implementing I-PASS in more than 50 institutions.

I-PASS Patient Safety Institute Coaches
The I-PASS Patient Safety Institute also consists of a team of certified coaches – clinicians that understand firsthand the challenges of implementing such a large initiative, such as I-PASS.
They understand the detailed milestone planning, effective staff training and robust measurement needed to achieve consistent and sustained changes in oral and written communication processes and they have developed tools and resources to aid in the process.
